Cougar Softball Adds Two New Staff Members

Coastal Bend College has looked to two of its own to provide leadership for its Softball program, as Director of athletics Paul Cantrell recently announced the hiring of Stephen Machorro as Head Softball Coach and Alyssa Reyes as Assistant Softball Coach.

Stephen Machorro has been named the Cougars Head Softball Coach having served last year as an assistant on the staff of Angelina College, a team that advanced to the NJCAA Region XIV playoffs.  He was involved in all areas of the program and served as the 1st base coach.  In 2015, Machorro served as an assistant with Texas A & M Kingsville capturing the 2015 Lonestar Conference Championship.  Championships are nothing new to Machorro as he has captured a pair of State Championships 2012.  One with Marucci Elite 10 and Under softball team as the Head Coach and the other as an Assistant with St. Pius X High School in Houston.

Machorro is 2017 graduate of Angelina College completing his Associate of Science in Business Administration.

 

Alyssa Reyes was recently named Assistant Softball Coach.  Reyes hails from Edna, where she attended Ganado High School. Reyes played collegiately at McLennan Community College and Coastal Bend College; graduating from CBC in 2015.  She finished her career at NCAA III Schreiner University graduating with a degree in Cellular Biology. Alyssa's primary playing position was catcher & utility.
