During the month of June, Coastal Bend College Basketball coaching staff spent the week teaching fundamentals to the San Diego School District. In the three day camp, participants learned how to improve ball handling, shooting, passing and defense. The CBC coaching staff enjoyed coaching up the youth and helping further develop their knowledge and talent for the game of basketball.
On the final day of the camp, the participants were then challenged to skill competitions that they had learned from the previous days.
Head Women's Basketball Coach, Nathan Purswell added: "Our goal at CBC with these camps is to help develop young athletes with passion and drive for the game of basketball but to also push them to continue their education. We as a coaching staff love to give back to the surrounding communities, thanks to a sport that has given us so much in return. We love teaching them the game of basketball to further develop fundamentals and skills to the youth, so they can practice in their free time. Running these basketball camps is always fun and puts a smile on our face, but the best part is seeing the players develop from the skills we taught them during the week."
Coastal Bend College Basketball coaching staff would like to thank Coach Tunchez and Coach Trevino for the facility and hospitality.
