Coastal Bend College Athletics Announces Justin Rodriguez as Head Men’s Soccer Coach

Beeville, TX- Coastal Bend College Athletics is pleased to announce the hiring of Justin Rodriguez as the new Head Coach of the Cougar Men's Soccer program.

Rodriguez brings a strong background in player development, coaching, and leadership to the CBC program. Most recently, he joined the coaching staff for the 2024 season at Missouri Southern State University, where he worked with the women's soccer program and assisted in player development and team operations.

Prior to Missouri Southern, Rodriguez served as an assistant coach at University of the Ozarks in 2021. He also gained coaching experience at the high school level at Alice High School from 2018–2019 while providing private training for youth players, teams, and goalkeepers throughout the region.

Rodriguez was a standout collegiate student-athlete at Schreiner University from 2017–2021. During his career with the Mountaineers, he was a four-year starter and team captain, demonstrating leadership both on and off the field. He was named to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll and served in leadership roles within the university's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and Mountaineer Leadership Academy.

A native of Alice, Rodriguez earned his Bachelor's degree in Sport Management from Schreiner University in 2021.

"Justin brings tremendous energy, leadership, and a passion for the game of soccer," said CBC Athletic Director,  Vinnie Garza. "His experience as both a collegiate student-athlete and coach, along with his deep ties to South Texas, make him an excellent fit to lead our program and continue building the Cougar soccer tradition."

Rodriguez will oversee all aspects of the CBC Men's Soccer program, including recruiting, player development, and program operations as the Cougars continue to compete in Region 14.
