The Coastal Bend College Cougars (9-19) will be looking to keep its late season surge - five wins in last eight games - going as they roll into the 2022 Region XIV Championship Tournament being held March 1st through March 5th in Jacksonville, Texas.  The Cougars earned the 11th in a tiebreaker over the 12th seed Trinity Valley Community College on the strength of the Cougars win over TVCC back on December 8th.

The "boys in blue" will take on the Paris Junior College Dragons (17-13) in the sessions finale at 8:00 pm.  The Dragons won the two teams only match-up this season back on December 11th in Paris 71-51.  The game was a tight battle through the first half (31-30 PJC) before they took control in the second-half.  The Cougars were led by Sophomore Jaylen Williams who put up 16 that night.

Paris ranks 4th in the Region in 3-point Shooting percentage, CBC ranks 8th.  The Cougars rank 8th in the Region in Points Per Game 72.4, while the Dragons rank 12th.   The Cougars bring a balanced attack to the floor with four players average double figures per game.  The Dragons will be led by their freshman guard combo Koron Davis #5 and Christian Ashby #11 who score 17.3 and 12.6 respectively.
