Beeville, TX-  On Saturday, February 26th, Coastal Bend College men's basketball team hosted Jacksonville Colleges on Saturday, February 26th for their final conference matchup of the season. CBC also would recognize their sophomores for all of the hardwork, dedication and commitment to the institutions basketball program. The Cougars are looking to finish their conference season off with a win before heading to the regional tournament.

After starting the game with a slow start, Jacksonville lead 8-2 with only a few minutes off the clock. The Cougars of Coastal Bend would answer right back with a 12-0 run, to take the lead of the game. The Cougars would go on to outscore Jacksonville 27-25 to end the half up eight points, 41-33. Coastal Bend looks to carry his momentum into the second half.

Following halftime, both teams started off to a good start on offense. Jacksonville and Coastal Bend were both trading buckets. With seven minutes into the second half, Coastal Bend leads 56-46. Throughout the remaining of the game Jacksonville would fight their way back into the game and taking their first lead since four minutes into the first half. Jacksonville would lead 75-73 with 3:11 left in the half. With fifty seconds left on the game-clock, Robert Chapman makes a three-point field goal to tie the game 80-80. This would ultimately force the game into overtime. In overtime, the Cougars would go on to beat Jacksonville by 94-92.

The Cougars improved to 7-12 in conference play. Up next for Coastal Bend will be the first round of the regional tournament against Paris College. The game will take place at John Alexander Gymnasium in Jacksonville, Texas. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 PM.
