4 Softballers Ink Letters of Intent to 4 Year Programs

Beeville, Tx-  The Coastal Bend College Softball Program may have had their season come to a screeching halt due to Covid-19, but that did not stop five Cougars from moving on to continue their education and playing career at the next level. CBC was off to the best start in program history recording a 13-6 record on the year before the season was called off.

Coastal Bend Starting Center Fielder, Vanessa Garces received her Associate of Arts in Criminal Justice this Spring. She will be attending Texas A&M University- San Antonio to increase her education and softball career. Garces competed in 65 games for the Cougars, knocking in 71 hits, three doubles, and 1 triple. She also recorded 15 RBI's, stole 26 bags and posted a .357 batting average. TAMUSA will start intercollegiate athletic play during the 2020-2021 academic year. The Jaguars are a member of the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) level. 

CBC Left Handed Pitcher, Amanda Aguirre earned her Associate of Arts in Teaching Degree and will be attending Texas Lutheran University to continue her education and playing career. Aguirre made a 48 appearances in the pitching circle while at Coastal Bend. She posted an era of  3.66 during her 199 innings pitched along with 122 strikeouts. TLU is a well known powerhouse at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III level. The Bulldogs compete in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. 

Coastal Bend Outfielder, Britney Garcia recently graduated with an Associate of Arts in Criminal Justice this Spring. She will be attending Texas A&M University- San Antonio this fall to further her education and playing career. Garcia played in a total of 58 games for the Cougars recording a total of 32 hits, three doubles, two triples and 11 RBI's while batting .234.

CBC Outfielder, Felicity Alamillo received her Associate of Science this May. She will be attending Texas A&M University- San Antonio to continue education and playing career. Alamillo, a Redshirt Freshman played in 15 games, scored 13 runs, recording seven hits, one of which included a double. She also knocked in two RBI's while hitting for .292 at the dish.
