Cougar Softballer, Corona Transferring to Texas A&M San Antonio

Beeville, TX-  Janice Corona has been the starting shortstop for the Coastal Bend Softball team for the past two years. She has a driving passion for the game of softball and works tirelessly to achieve her goals.

The fellow sophomore had a consistent career batting average of .235, 29 runs, 42 hits, 10 doubles, 5 home runs, and 23 RBI's. Corona always strived for perfection and will not accept anything less. The Cibolo native has been a prominent example of a great student-athlete and teammate excelling in the classroom and being supportive of her team.

Here is what Head Coach Salazar had to say about Corona: "Janice, Jan Jan, Corona is a great leader on and off the field. She has been a player that I can rely on when the game is close. I enjoyed coaching her throughout the past two years and watching her grow into the player she is today. I will miss her, but I know that she will be a great addition to the Texas A&M- San Antonio Jaguars!"

Best of luck to Janice Corona and thank you for being a part of the CBC softball! Cannot wait to hear more about your successes in the future! GO JAGS!
