Beeville, TX-   Coastal Bend College Freshman Guard, Savanna Smith was named All-Region 14 Honorable Mention. Smith became the tenth Cougar in program history to be named to All-Region honors.

The Houston native average 16.3 points in 23 games for the 2021 campaign. Smith corralled 3.8 rebounds per game and dished out 2.3 assists per game while shooting 32 percent from three-point range and 77 percent from the free throw line. She finished second in the region in total points scored with 374, free throws made with 82. The Fort Bend Travis High School Alum also finished third in points per game and fifth in free throw percentage for the conference.

Head Coach Nathan Purswell on Smith,  "No doubt if we would have played a normal season, she may have scored 550 points. She also made her way to second in the record books for points in a game at 34 at Blinn on March 31st, 2021. Savanna is off to a very promising start and we're expecting her to be a huge part of the team this coming year."
